Support for Women Who Have Experienced Abuse
Education and support services are available to women
who have experienced abuse in their intimate relationships. The women's
program raises awareness of the dynamics of abuse and supports women to
make healthy choices that protect the safety and emotional well being
of themselves and their children.
Group programs for women provide support and build skills
for healthy relationships. Programs are available through the
Pacific Centre
Family Services Association.
Women who use violence
Women who use violence in intimate relationships, toward
either male or female partners, are invited to explore a special counselling
service available. Administered by a partnership of five community agencies,
Women Using Violence provides assessment, referral and counselling for
women.
The service is designed for women who use severe violence
or who use violence on a regular basis. Women who use violence in self-defence
or in periodic episodes of retaliation against an abusive partner are
better served by programs for abused women, and are referred accordingly.
(Call Cathy at 250-589-2556 for information, referrals, and assessment appointments.)

resources.
